Yes. Searching and getting connected costs nothing. If you hire a public adjuster, you pay them directly, usually a percentage of what they recover for you. Nothing is due upfront.
How many adjusters will contact me?
Usually 3, and never more than 5. We match you with 3 to 5 licensed firms in your state, fewer if your area has fewer firms that fit your claim, so you don't get flooded with calls. If you asked for a specific firm, it's one of them. You can tell any firm to stop contacting you at any time.
Do you help businesses and commercial property owners?
Yes. The site is written mostly for homeowners, but we also match owners and managers of commercial property, such as stores, offices, restaurants, warehouses, apartment buildings, condo associations and HOAs. Many licensed public adjusters handle commercial claims, including business interruption losses. Use the same free form and choose "Business / commercial" as the property type, and we'll put firms that list commercial claims first.
How do you check licenses?
Firm licenses are matched to official state records, such as the Florida Department of Financial Services and the Texas Department of Insurance. Each license on a profile shows its source and a link where one exists. Always confirm with your state before signing.
Why don't profiles show phone numbers?
So your request is tracked and followed up. When you ask for a call, we pass it to the firm and to a backup if they're busy.
Who runs this site?
Dorothy, Inc. We keep the license data up to date and connect you with licensed firms. It's completely free: we don't charge homeowners or firms anything, and no firm pays us for referrals. We never sell your information. See our Terms of Service.
